Logic crashing after adding a SooperLooper instance

I'm using Logic Pro 9.1.8 on a MacBook Air with OS X 10.7.5.

I have recently installed the SooperLooper plug-in - have tried both version 1.6.16 & 1.6.18 with the same behaviour.

To replicate the crash I simply start Logic, create an empty project, add an Audio channel, make it stereo, add SuperLooperAU insert. Then quit Logic and then say 'Don't save' and then it goes into limbo and doesn't actually quit. When I do Apple-Q a few times it finally crashes with the report below.

It also goes into Limbo if I ever change the 'SooperLooperAU' insert to 'No Plug-in' or simply close a project which is using SooperLooper.
