How to disable built-in mic in Jack/SL set-up with USB mic

Dear Jesse,
I have everything up and running thanks to your help but still have one problem - I am recording through a USB mic yet the inbuilt mic in my iBook is still picking up signal. I can't seem to disable it in the Aggregate Device editor, as it comes as part and package of the Built-In Audio that I use as my output.

Do you have any ideas?

Can anyone give me some advice on microphones? I'm building a home recording studio and I'm looking to buy a number of microphones for miking drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, brass and vocals. I have quite a few ideas on what I'd like but I was wondering if anyone could recommend anything based on what they've used in the past? I'm working on a budget but I don't want it to sound crap either. I'm looking to spend 800-1000 at the most but the less I spend the better!
