Automatically setting loop length

Post by ThomasWincek »

Hey all. So here is what i want to do. (using sooperlooper inside Ableton) Ideally I'd have an empty buffer already set at an appropriate length (say 8 measures) running as soon as the file is set up. Then, I would just record things into it using the overdub at appropriate times. Is there an easy way to do this?

Unfortunately there is no really easy way to do this from inside ableton (other than spending the 8 measures recording silence quantized). You could actually load an empty wav file of the appropriate length by using the GUI or an OSC command, but that probably isn't what you want to somehow program your ableton session to do.

If you could consider how you think this could best be specified given the constraints of a plugin, let me know and I'll consider implementing it.
