Re: Adding Pops and clicks to recording issue
That's crazy! I've never seen anything like that happen before! Are those in the actual recorded loop playback in SL? Can you do a bounce to a WAV file and post a link to it so i can analyze it in an audio editor?

Re: DAW Setup
You would need to add sends in all your tracks that you want to get into SL, and have them sending to a dedicated bus/track that SL is inserted in. That way SL hears everything that you send to it, but you can take the output of that SL bus/track and possibly send it to another track for recording o...

Re: New version 1.7.4.... Mac catalina support
Thanks for reporting that bad bug! I've just released a new version 1.7.6 which should fix the standalone startup options issue. Get it at: http://essej.net/sooperlooper/download.html Also, it looks like MIDI Patchbay hasn't released a Catalina-compatible version yet, so I built one for people who w...

Have you considered using the AU plugin version of SooperLooper directly in Reaper? That might work a lot better for you....

Re: Recording Quality
Greg, it just sounds like you have a stereo input, but used a mono loop instance. Be sure to create a stereo loop instance (you may need to delete the existing one first, then create new stereo looper(s) from the main menu). You can set in the SL prefs what the default number of channels you want fo...

Re: Newbie question: How do I select input for mono track
If you generally only want to record one input at a time, use mono loop instances in SooperLooper, and instead of using the common_in_*, use the loopX_in_1 ports and don't route your capture ports to common_in* at all. For example, make two different loop instances in SL, both mono, use the first on...

Re: Raspberry BB & Sooperlooper controller
The BeatBuddy does send MIDI clock start messages when it starts, so SL should be doing the right thing and know when the first beat of the cycle is, as long as you start the beat buddy first. You should also go ahead and turn on the "play sync" toggles for each loop as well as "sync&...

Re: Raspberry BB & Sooperlooper controller
You are going to want to use the "cycle" setting for the quantize control, and set the 8ths/cycle control to the length of the cycle you want to quantize to. So for 4/4 music, if you want to quantize to a bar, set 8ths/cycle to the number of 8ths in a 4/4 bar, which is 8. if you want two b...

Re: GUI Error
Thanks, the apps and plugin should now be all properly signed ... do a re-download of the SooperLooper-64bit-1.7.4.dmg and re-install the plugin and application.

As I don't have Catalina here, I'm relying on you to test it for me, thanks!

New version 1.7.4.... Mac catalina support
I have put up a tentative 1.7.4 release, mainly to add support for the Mac version for the latest macOS (Catalina), and full 64 bit support for both the plugin and the GUI application. http://essej.net/sooperlooper/download.html Please test the new mac build on whatever macOS version you have (10.9 ...

I'll fix it! I recently started using it again after a long break, and it reminded me how fun it is. I'm still on Mojave, but I'll do a new 64 bit build soon.

Re: Footswiches using Arduino
That is super cool looking! Regarding the lights, did you just have to match SL's logic in order to get the lights to correspond to the correct state?

That's the correct /set command, yes. Sorry it wasn't in the docs!
In the GUI it is called "auto 8th", just for reference if you ever use it for anything.

Re: Eighth_per_cycle sometimes doubles itself without user input
I noticed when sending "eighth_per_cycle" numbers via OSC to sooperlooper, such as "5" or "4", that Sooperlooper will sometimes double these numbers. First, in my register auto_update callbacks, sooperlooper will report to me that the eighth_per_cycle has been changed ...

Re: Latency setting help
Latency compensation is a troublesome beast in looping! It's hard to remotely troubleshoot someone's issues as well.... I didn't see an overview of how your system is setup and how you are doing your looping, to give any good answer regarding your question of start event and sync. Usually, in SL if ...

Re: How to stop a recording with keybinding?
When you use the keybindings they will operate on the currently selected loops, and if you don't see a selection that means ALL loops are selected. Use the number keys to select the loop you want to use with keybindings, where 1 is the first loop, and 0 selects all loops.

Re: Which buttons should I press to simply double a loop ??
The Multiply feature won't instantly double/triple/etc the length of a loop, since this is more of a real-time looper, you hit multiply and then have to let it continue in the "multiply" until it goes into the next loop iterations, and you finish the multiply when it is long enough for you...

Re: MIDI clock resolution ??
MIDI Clock doesn't work that way... it is always a fixed 24 ticks per quarter note (beat). As for why you are having issues with the MIDI clock sync features in SL, there could be many reasons, and I would need to investigate to see what might be going on. If you were using the AU version as a plugi...

Re: Any comparison or controls mapping to Mobius Looper ?
I haven't looked at Mobius in a while, but you can use a keyboard to control SL as well, although I would recommend MIDI, especially if you are thinking about building your own arduino device anyway. The specifics will likely be different than Mobius, but you can probably accomplish most of what you...

Re: Where is the stop button?
You can bind any of the loop commands to "all loops" by specifying it in the binding. You can't do it with the learn function, you have to go into the midi bindings page and set it up (or modify it) there. The mute_trigger command should do what you want with a binding to Loop # = All. If ...

alignwaivers, just for reference, the GUI app itself registers 100ms auto-updates, so see what happens if you try that instead of 15ms.
