Re: Press and Hold MIDI bindings
Thanks for the reply! I wasn't aware of the other long-press commands... I knew you've been adding the combination commands (which are fantastic!) but I hadn't gone as far as to actually try to use long-press MIDI bindings. :? I know we don't get a lot of interaction here on the forum, but I just wa...

Press and Hold MIDI bindings
First off, I have to say I'm surprised SL isn't more widely used in the music industry. It's fantastic! So much stuff packed into it. That being said, I'm finally going to suggest something I think might be very helpful. I've been studying the manuals of all the new hardware loopers out now, and thi...

Re: OSC for non-programmers?
Update: I did manage to get TouchOSC and my laptop talking. Had to connect them to a different access point on their own, but that part is working. I can see messages being received. Now, to figure out how to mangle TouchOSC messages in a way that SooperLooper understands. For all you non-programmer...

Re: OSC for non-programmers?
Update: I did manage to get TouchOSC talking with my laptop, I could see messages being sent and recieved with oscdump, but no luck with SooperLooper. I know it adds an integer to the message, even if you specify a string. I wonder if that's changeable with the TouchOSC layout editor? Maybe we could...

Re: OSC for non-programmers?
I've been chewing on the idea of doing the same thing, but I have had ZERO success in figuring this out. Apparently, TouchOSC supports custom configs on Android now, so I'm trying to give it a shot. However, the little amount of information on how to actually *use* the OSC commands and such is ridic...

Re: record_or_overdub_solo_next
I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to add this command in, and I could see where you'd want to use something like that. I don't know of any way to do that with existing commands, unless you stack them. You could possibly use separate buttons for each loop that select the loop, solo it, and do rec/dub at t...

Re: Newbie question about sync'd loops
First things first, what kind of system are you running this on? Linux, or Mac? And 2: you can make a very cheap button controller out of an old usb keyboard. Just pop off all the keys except for z, v, m, and ?/ and map a few commands to those. I built my own controller for about $50. I was playing ...

Re: Newbie question about sync'd loops
Sounds like you figured out how to get the loops synched, and yes, it does take some practice to get it exactly right. SooperLooper automatically compensates for audio delay, so you should be getting it right by just playing at the same time. Tell us a little more about your setup, maybe it will hel...

Re: Record button…
Can you give us some more info? When you say "button" do you have it mapped to a foot controller, and if so, what kind? The commands are MIDI, so it will only show activity when it is sending a message, i.e. "start recording" or "stop recording". It might be possible to...

Re: Building a foot controller... but not MIDI
I ended up accidentally "bricking" the Ultimarc iPac2... tried to program it using the wrong interface setting and it screwed it up somehow. Still, I ordered another one, it's still cheaper than a Hale Micro UMC32. I'm also going to replace some of the buttons that aren't working correctly...

Re: Problem w/ controlling two loops with one MIDI command
Make sure you have "odub quant" unchecked in the main window, your overdub command shouldn't be doing that. How do you do your flow in a normal song? Maybe we can reproduce it.

Re: Newb setup advice
Well, that's a rather ambitious first post... but still, everybody's got to start somewhere. Basically, what Zoe does is use a MIDI controller pedal and Ableton Live to just loop her cello playing. You don't even need a computer to do that, you can get a simple looper pedal from Boss or Digitech and...

Re: Fading in and out loop with exp pedal - guidelines
First, welcome! Second, SooperLooper works in stereo just fine. Third, you can use some sort of MIDI controller to fade the loops in and out. It's pretty easy to map a control to a parameter. You can use something small, like the Korg NanoKontrol or the Akai LPD8 (both work over USB, very simple to ...

So after you've done it once, and reset the loops, it works correctly?

Re: Performing a song with multiple pre-recorded loops
I just realized the only downside to doing it this way (using "mute quant") is that you won't be able to mute the track if you want to do a quick break in the music... to work around this, you could map a CC pedal or button to SooperLooper's "[ctrl] wet" parameter. It would effec...

Re: Performing a song with multiple pre-recorded loops
Actually, this wouldn't be hard to do. It's possible using solo and/or mute for individual tracks. Here's how I did it: Set up an empty session with 3 loops. (Ctrl-2 adds stereo loops, Ctrl-D removes them) Put checks on "sync" and "play sync" on all 3 loops. If your first loop is...

Have you tried running the sound card in 16-bit mode? I really don't know if that's the issue, just trying to help you eliminate possibilities.

Re: Basic Looping Questions
Which version are you using? And are you triggering record/dub from inside Logic, how are you making the loops? Can you load a .wav file into SooperLooper and play it back? Try a few other things, just to see where exactly it's broken at.

Re: Single midi footswitch pedal??
I built my own footswitch using a keyboard interface, it can use from 1 to 32 buttons that map to keypresses. If you need MIDI, you can use something like the Tech21 MIDI Moose , the Rocktron MIDI Xchange , or something similar. Figure out how many buttons you need, and it will be easy to hook it al...

Re: SL with Mbox?
When you say "using it with an Mbox" I'm assuming you're talking about hardware... if your computer sees it as a sound device, then it should work with SooperLooper. Are you running it on a Mac, or on Linux?

Re: MIDI binding for BOSS RC-20XL emulation mode
This is definitely doable, at least with the newest version of SL. Button 1 (play/stop) would need to be mapped to [mute_trigger] which essentially does the same thing. Button 2 would be mapped to [record_or_overdub] which I think only does record if the loop is empty, otherwise is overdub. Button 3...

Re: Building a foot controller... but not MIDI
I don't think you could use this controller with a Digitech pedal... it's a computer keyboard emulator. It plugs into the keyboard plug on a computer, just lets me use buttons instead of a regular keyboard... but if you wanted to, you could use it to type with your feet
