Could you give more details?

- What platform are you on?
- Are you using Sooperlooper stand-alone or AU?
- What exactly happens when you try and change pitch or stretch?
- Could you post the terminal output?

Pitch and Stretch do not seem to be working for me in 1.6.18 or 1.6.16
1.6.14 seems OK.

Hi I'm experiencing the same problem with sooperlooper-1.6.18. I can start sooperlooper and slgui separately which is OK, but if I run slgui alone it fails to find the sooperlooper engine it spawns it self.

When I first turned on my laptop this morning from suspend, running slgui alone worked correctly, but from then on the problem has been present.

Roland FC-300 Help

Hello,

I own this foot controller for about 2 years now and ive got it to the point where it works well with my setup (listed below)

I have really ONE question, Can I program it in one stomp of a button
#1 Switch my amp to Clean or dirty
#2 Tell my FX processor to turn on the loop and user preset

??

Basically.. BOOM, button 1 is my dirty setting (no effects) button 2 is my lead setting (dirty / effects on user preset 1) button 2 is clean with effects on (clean w/ effects)

is this possible? or do I have to keep #1 pressing the AMP control select button THEN stomp my FX loop ON.. THEN choose my preset??

I figured this thing would do one button at a time switching. But i gave up after a while

Parameter / Binding help Novation Automap

hello,

i'm attempting to set up a Novation Remote Zero SL controller to communicate with SL as a plugin via Ableton LIVE.

with a default plugin controller preset on the remote zero, the Automap software is able to see all the parameters of SL (or a lot of them). with a lot of trial and error clicking, i have been able to assign the individual volumes (wet) of each loop to a fader.

i'd like to assign record, overdub, pause, and trigger (at the very least) to buttons on the Remote.

the first problem i can't seem to solve is assigning REC to a button and having it behave as the button in the SL GUI does.
that is: on press 1 in the SL GUI, the loop records and on press 2 of the 'record' button it goes into play.

Automap's learn function sees the record button as having the parameter: 1-record_or_overdub [cmd]

if i assign this to the Remote button, the result is: press 1- record, press 2- stop (not play)

*interestingly: if i press 'record' in the SL GUI first, then hit the button assigned with 1-record_or_overdub [cmd], it *does* go into play mode. then, 2 presses later it goes into overdub, then on the 3rd press: stops.

any tips on how i might assign some controller buttons to REC on press 1 and PLAY on press 2?

Figured it out. You can not be in 64 bit mode to run sl as an AU even if you have the bridge open. Going to try to run it with jack as a standalone in 64 bit logic when I get home as I would like to keep low latency and I have a boat load of music devices running through the computer.

i am having the same issue. running SL in logic 9.
when i load a session, SL is frozen is 'pause' mode and nothing functions.
the loops appear to be loaded, as the loop lengths are reflected in the timing window.
it doesn't appear to be a memory issue as logic is not consuming much memory and the loops are not massive.
also, the loops worked fine when they were initially recorded and played back etc.
this freeze only occurs upon loading a preexisting session.

macbook pro 2.3ghz intel i5 w/8gb ram

any help appreciated.

Not sure why you would have to change it to localhost if it should already be configured to localhost, but there you go.

Hi Jesse, thanks for your hep with this, i have not managed to set this up exactly how i would like it, but its close.

One thing i would say if any Logic users are reading this is to try running it in ableton. I got ableton Intro and set up SL exactly how i wanted with multiple ins/outs and everything MIDI mapped to my Korg Nanokontrol and it only took about 20 minutes.

Its a shame that abletons plugins are so geared to DJ performance styles, as for ambient music, logics plug ins are way better, but for ease of use, seriously, just set it up in ableton.

Yes, there is definitely a race condition there, good catch.

The problem with your solution is that the code in looper.cpp where you added the new signal LoopParamChanged is called from the realtime audio thread, and as a rule I don't emit signals from there, because the target may not be (and usually isn't) realtime safe code.

I'll have to think more about the best way to fix this one.....

Hey so I had no luck with that first option. Not sure if I did it right but I tried just about every midi routing combination I could think of. The 2nd option worked as you said, once I ran http://www.essej.net/slforum/slregister I was receiving messages in Osculator but they we're pretty much useless as mentioned. I found this program called osc-midi-bridge, I'm not quite sure how it works, it asks for an osc address pattern which confuses me but everything else seemed pretty straight forward, maybe you can take a look if you have a chance? Ok, thanks for the encouragement Jesse. I am just going to start going through these from the top. First I am changing the mute description slightly to:

Code:: [cmd] mute Press to mute loop output, press again to un-mute. Dry passthough audio will be unaffected. To continue playing the loop from the top press "[cmd]trig". To play back the loop once and return to mute, press "[cmd] oneshot".

Then there is some easy ones:

Code:: [cmd] mute_off Press to un-mute loop output. **** [cmd] mute_on Press to mute loop output. **** [cmd] mute_trigger Press to mute. Press again to un-mute and start the loop from the top (like "[cmd] trigger").

rephrasing pause to:

Code:: [cmd] pause Press to pause loop playback, press again to un-pause. Dry passthough audio will be unaffected. To continue playing the loop from the top press "[cmd] trigger". To play back the loop once and return to mute, press "[cmd] oneshot".

and some more easy ones:

Now I am at "[cmd] record_exclusive" which I havn't personally used but seems to stem from this thread. I'll get on doing some research in a while if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Hmm, I wonder if it's a Lion thing. Anyone else have success on Lion with the latest SL (I haven't tested it personally)?

When will this OSC engine/gui separation stop biting me? I thought this recent build would solve the issues, but apparently I was wrong. Just to verify, if you do 'ping 127.0.0.1' in the terminal that you get responses.
